About Us and Our Program......
Welcome to Al Shama Arabians. I have breeding to preserve Al Khamsa Arabians since 2006. At first my dream was to find a Black Arabian stallion like most little girls dream about but what I found was something more than that. In the summer of '06 I took a long trip from West Virginia to the bottom of Missouri to Oakwood Park Arabians. There I discovered a beautiful stallion and mare. He was only four years old and just got back from his 30 days of training under saddle. He was sweet and so calm and not to mention beautiful. I started learning about how truly special he was and what he came from. He was linebred to the mare Sahanad. She was a Davenport mare tracing to the famous war mare *Wadduda who was given by the Bediouns to Homer Davenport as a gift. These lines are known for their easy going dispositions, great athletic ability (*Wadudda took her Bedioun rider over 100 miles with a bullet in her pastern), and extremely beautiful desert type. I am grateful to Carol Billington for giving me the opportunity to purchase OPA Yowel as well as HPF Caraga Ole to start my program. I however do not solely breed for these lines. I have found that the Arabian breed has several wonderful horses through other lines as well. My very first Arabian is SHR Shalisha (now 23 has been with me for 12 years) is Egyptian-Related and American Foundation. I find these mares make great outcrosses to my Sahanad stallion and make excellent Sport Horse Prospects.
